Following the formation of The Association of Composite Door Manufacturers (ACDM) in 2002, a constitution was developed and later changed in 2005 to enable component manufacturers and suppliers to become affiliate members of the ACDM.

Following the issues raised after the tragic events of the Grenfell Tower fire, members agreed that the ACDM constitution needed to be reviewed and the structure of the ACDM should be changed to increase scope of benefits, in particular the technical advice and guidance offered to members. This revision of the ACDM Constitution was completed in late 2019 and will be reflected in the ACDMs Articles of Association in 2020.
